Tidal Twister, the first Skyline Attractions Skywarp Horizon model, has debuted at SeaWorld San Diego. The ride features an inline twist and a speed hill. It reaches a maximum speed of 30 mph with a top height of only 22 feet.

Riders board at opposite ends of the figure-eight layout. The seating configuration on each 16-passenger train has guests in the front or back rows facing outward with the middle seats facing each other. Since the track is actually tilted inward at the loading point, the ride designers have modified the trains to tilt upward to a level position so that passengers can board in a typical position. The over-the-shoulder restraints are quite comfortable.

It will be a matter of preference as to whether going forward or backward is better, but many riders find going backward is more fun. An interesting fact discovered from a SeaWorld staff member is the direction of the trains is based on the weight of the trains, so riders don't know which direction the seats will be going when they board. The ride was smooth, fun and easily re-rideable. Tidal Twister is the first of its kind and appears to be a welcome addition to the park. It's a great entry level thrill ride.
Because of the nature of the drive mechanism, enthusiasts will inevitably debate whether Tidal Twister is a true roller coaster or a powered thrill ride. Regardless, it’s fun.
