On January 25, 2020, 23 ACE members found welcome relief from the bitter cold of Canadian winter by entering the hot, humid atmosphere in Fallsview Indoor Water Park. In addition to the wonderful climate, the park provided something for every water fan. Fallsview has a wide selection of exciting waterslides that vary in intensity, plus a full wave pool. The more adventurous among ACEers braved the outdoor pool, where the warm water and the frigid air created their own foggy weather pattern. For others, the relaxing comfort of the hot whirlpool was irresistible.
For lunch, attendees visited Boston Pizza where the food was wonderful, and the restaurant was generous with special dietary requests. As usual, the staff were very accommodating.
The Clifton Hill Fun Passes gave the opportunity to try out some of the best tourist attractions of Niagara Falls. With two crazy versions of indoor mini golf available, duffers and pros could be evenly matched. While experienced golfers might post shockingly high scores, at least one first-time golfer among the group was known to have achieved a hole-in-one. Beginner’s luck, fluke or latent talent? There was also some pretty intense competition in the arcade.
Attendees followed the crazy antics of the toon characters in the Wild West Coaster 6-D motion ride experience and tried to outdo each other in the Ghost Blasters Dark Ride. The Movieland Wax Museum sparked laughs (and a few spooky scares) as each person judged whether the figures were accurate portrayals of the intended subjects.
Of course, as coaster fans, ACEers scrutinized the newest ride built on the roof-top of the House of Frankenstein attraction. Members eagerly anticipate the opening of Frank ‘N Coaster in early spring. Watch the ACE events page for an informal get-together. The passes also included the Sky Wheel, offering a special view of Niagara Falls and the surrounding area on a spectacular day when sunshine made everything sparkle.
Many attendees returned to the waterpark for the late afternoon and evening to finish up a fun-filled day.
ACE Canada regional reps thank Melanie Mowat of Fallsview Indoor Water Park and Paul Guylee, who recently retired from HOCO, the company that distributes the Fun Pass, for supporting the ACE event through the years.
