Indiana Beach, Monticello, Indiana, is only days away from making its comeback.
The 94-year-old amusement park, located on the shores of Lake Shafer, is preparing to reopen Friday, June 26, for a VIP party. It will open to the general public Saturday after several months of being closed, acquiring a new owner and operating with new guidelines under the COVID-19 pandemic.
Season passes and daily tickets are available to purchase on Indiana Beach’s website. Indiana Beach will also honor 2020 season passes and reservations originally purchased through Apex Parks Group.
The campgrounds adjacent to the park reopened in May.
Indiana Beach will operate at 50 percent capacity, with reservations required using an online reservation system through the park’s website. In addition, some rides and attractions will have rows and seats closed, in order to maintain social distancing. Tubes will be required to use the park’s Lazy River attraction.
Employees will wear face masks, and while park visitors are encouraged to wear masks, they will not be required.
