It’s hard to believe, but ACE Western Pennsylvania’s Fun Fore All Fiesta 2020 on July 3 was the very first official ACE in-person event – regional or national – since the ongoing pandemic shut down parks in 2020. Most ACE regions were reluctant to schedule events early in the season because of the uncertainty of park openings. Fun Fore All, an indoor-outdoor family entertainment center in Cranberry Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, was up to the task of hosting it, having been already reopened for over a month and had taken the precautionary steps necessary to ensure the safety of guests.
Instead of checking in at a table inside, the 37 ACEers attending this informal event met at an outside tent, where Sarah Windisch reminded them to buy their heavily discounted four-hour fun card that covered all of Fun Fore All’s open attractions: the outdoor go karts, bumper cars, Fiesta Express roller coaster, batting cages and two miniature golf courses and the indoor XD Dark Ride and many arcade games. Some outdoor attractions were closed because of social distancing issues, but there were plenty of fun things to do to fill the four hours of the scheduled event.

First on the agenda for many – and first coaster of 2020 for most attendees − was a ride on Fiesta Express, the Zamperla Mini Mouse that is especially fun to ride when it’s full of ACEers. New this year to Fun Fore All were spinning bumper cars that could be controlled manually to go forward, backward and spin, but also went crazy and spun on their own at certain times during the ride. Lots of laughs and fun! There was much competition and more laughter on the cave and lighthouse mini golf courses and the go kart rides.
Fun Fore All Fiesta 2020 was an awesome beginning to the Independence Day holiday weekend. ACEers who had not seen one another since March’s CoasterBash! — the last event on the region’s event calendar before the coronavirus shutdowns — were happy to be together again, even at a social distance.
