Clementon Park and Splash World, Clementon, New Jersey, will be revived later this year by an Indiana firm that bought the regional attraction for more than $2.6 million.
A division of Indiana Beach Amusement and Water Park was the top bidder at an auction held on March 23. The buyer has plans to re-open the park "later this year."
The company operates Indiana Beach, an amusement park with a boardwalk and other attractions in Monticello, Indiana, near Lake Shafer on the Tippecanoe River, about 90 miles northwest of Indianapolis. Indiana Beach is entering its 95th year of operation.
Clementon Park, also on an artificial lake, is an even older attraction. It was founded in 1907 as a "trolley park" to boost weekend ridership on a transit line to Philadelphia.
