Vekoma is providing some eagerly anticipated coasters this season — and they are spread about the globe.
One of the biggest attention grabbers is Abyssus at Energylandia (Zator, Poland). In a park in which one impressive installation following another has made a name for the park in a very short time, Abyssus is a multi-element coaster that has numerous features. In addition to four inversions, the ride delivers two linear synchronous motor launches. Testing is under way, and theming is in progress. It will be the park’s 16th roller coaster when it opens this season (or 17th if Vekoma’s Family Boomerang opens before it). In addition to Abyssus, Light Explorer is also scheduled to open in 2021.

Fanta Park Glorious Orient is a park under construction in Ganzhou, China. It is projected to open this year. When it does, it will feature a Top Gun launched model from Vekoma, sure to be a big hit with its four inversions. As at Energylandia, a Family Boomerang will be a Vekoma sibling at the park as well. A Wacky Worm makes for a children’s offering.

The name of the Top Gun model at Fanta Park Glorious Orient has yet to be released, but this advance look makes it appear to be a winner.

Work is progressing on Phoenix at Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park in Coney Island (Brooklyn, New York). While the structure has gone vertical, the Suspended Family Coaster still has a way to go. It is expected to be ready to fly this summer.

And on the opposite side of the country, the newest Rocky Mountain Construction single-rail coaster is going up quickly. Silverwood Theme Park is excited to debut Stunt Pilot this season. This model will feature a ten-car train.
