As we enter the second year of the currently serving Executive Committee, we have all learned a lot. Our number one goal during these two years of service is to focus on our membership. One of our strategic goals toward accomplishing this is to be more transparent, which is what I heard most during the election last year. It is my hope you have begun seeing more options to get involved and better resources to understand the operations and processes of ACE.
As you read through this and watch the business meeting recording, I encourage you to follow the guidance of Six Flags: see something, say something. Each of us brings something unique to ACE, which is a club built on ideas and fun. What do you think about as you read this? What questions do you have? Do you have a wish or ideas to advance our mission statement? Do you know of a tool or process that can offer ACE volunteers more efficiency or a better outcome? I want to hear your insight, observations, questions and ideas because they provide your leaders with tools to work with as ACE grows, changes and adapts through time.
We aren’t finished with the action steps toward this goal, so you are welcome to dedicate some time to read through the Business Meeting Booklet if you haven’t already. This is a synopsis of the activities of all the coordinators, managers, regional reps, directors and elected officials over the course of the last year. It is an immersive look into our thoughts, goals and activities completed during the many hours spent volunteering for ACE.
I encourage you to comment on this posting or email questions@aceonline.org.
IWhile I feel this Executive Committee is just hitting its stride, an upcoming election is quickly approaching next summer. This is an important event because these elected officers set the direction for our club. Following the election, the president nominates the seven directors, and the vice president, treasurer, secretary and immediate past president each cast a vote to approve or reject the slate presented. These 12 individuals then hopefully work together as servant leaders to advance ACE’s mission and abide by the bylaws of ACE. I want you to seriously consider whom you feel will do this well for ACE and tell them! Sometimes this vote of confidence is the encouragement needed for someone pondering running for an office.
