Nearly 70 ACE members from the ACE Pacific Southwest region and as far away as Virginia and Florida gathered for the third annual West Coast ACEers event at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California, on Saturday, March 29.
The day began with doughnuts at check in. Many attendees were eager to sport their new West Coast ACEers T-shirts (which made their debut this year). In addition, they were able to start tackling a Scavenger Hunt activity that put their Six Flags Magic Mountain knowledge to the test. This was a group effort that was created by the Pacific Southwest regional representative team!
A tour of Six Flags Magic Mountain’s “Cycle Shop” gave a behind-the-scenes look at roller coaster maintenance.

At noon the staff of Six Flags Magic Mountain hosted a backstage tour of the park’s “Cycle Shop,” where coaster trains are refurbished and repaired. All in attendance enjoyed an informative Q&A session with Park President Jeff Harris and Maintenance Directors John Howell and Brad Jordan.

The group presented a framed note of thanks to Six Flags Magic Mountain for its hosting of the event.

The group photo was followed by a takeover of West Coast Racers, where ACEers had two full trains of doing what ACEers love to do, which is riding (and racing!).
The day concluded with the winners of the Scavenger Hunt being announced and ERT on Full Throttle after park hours. Riding Full Throttle in the dark is always so much fun, so therefore the evening’s energy was high. When ERT was cut short as the camera in the tunnel stopped working, the park was generous enough to offer all in the Full Throttle queue three front-of-the-line passes for their next visit to the park. All in all, it was a great day in the sun spending time with friends and making some new ones.

Owing to the event being held at a Six Flags park, attendees got to meet DC Superheroes throughout the day.

Thanks were extended to Tori Gilette and Debbee Duggar with Six Flags Magic Mountain for their assistance in the planning of this event. ACE Pacific Southwest looks forward to meeting up again at Magic Mountain as part of ACE’s 2025 Preservation Conference this August.
