Passionate advocate. Innovator. Connector. Community builder. Visionary. Risk taker. These are just a few of the words that come to mind when speaking about Deno “DJ” Vourderis. A lifelong contributor to the amusement industry and a dedicated member of the ACE community, DJ’s involvement began at an early age and continues to grow with purpose and passion.

The Vourderis family's connection to ACE was first established by DJ’s grandparents, Denos and Lula, and further nurtured by their children. DJ has continued this legacy with remarkable dedication, deepening the bond between Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park and the ACE community.
Colleen Whyte — former vice president and former ACE New York City regional representative — fondly recalled seeing DJ’s commitment to the park even as a young child. That early dedication has since blossomed into visionary leadership.
In recent years, DJ has become one of the most engaging and memorable speakers at ACE’s off-season events. He often shares stories of perseverance, such as his family's unwavering commitment to building the Vekoma Phoenix roller coaster during the COVID-19 shutdown, his innovative use of 3-D printing to maintain the historic Wonder Wheel and his efforts to teach his young sons the behind-the-scenes intricacies of park maintenance. Today, they proudly hold him to the same exacting standards he instills in them. During Palm Sunday’s festivities, the next generation was already making its mark, advocating for timely repairs to the animatronics and lighting in Spook-A-Rama to enhance the guest experience.
DJ Vourderis exemplifies ACE’s core values of community and preservation. A faithful friend to ACE and a leader in the industry, his impact is already profound—and continues to grow.
