On Sunday, July 17, members of the Pacific Southwest region descended
upon John’s Incredible Pizza in Carson, California, in their retro best for a
totally tubular time at the Crazy 8’s roller coaster pizza party. Those
who have visited a John’s Incredible Pizza know that their pizza buffet is
second to none, so attendees already knew the food buffet was going to be
amazing.
The Crazy 8’s roller coaster was a big draw as well.

Of course, the real reason to gather was for the fun of the
‘80s costume contest and the ‘80s trivia game. A big surprise for attendees
was special guest Aileen Quinn of the ‘80s movie Annie fame, who was
there to host both of these. The trivia contest was a challenge (thanks, Doug
and Derek Perry!), and for anyone who didn’t live in SoCal during the 1980s, it
was tough remembering the coasters that were installed at Magic Mountain and
Knott’s during that time, as well as other tough questions.
All attendees were given game cards with enough points to
ride and play to their hearts’ delight. Everyone had a blast on the bumper cars
and the carousel and in the arcade, as well as figuring out the ultimate
configuration on the coaster to get the most spin!
