Legoland Florida, in Winter Haven, is shutting down one of its long-running roller coasters next month. The theme park announced that its Flying School attraction will close to “make way for future awesomeness.”
Flying School — a steel, inverted, family coaster — has been around since the days of Cypress Gardens. The coaster opened in 2004 as Swamp Thing, but the name was changed in 2011 when the park became Legoland Florida.
Legoland has not said what will take the place of the ride. The final day to ride the long-running coaster will be August 16.
