Kennywood, West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, has announced that Racer will take its final rides of the season on Saturday September 16.
The wooden roller coaster is slated to continue a multi-year project this fall as part of the amusement park's preservation program. A team of carpenters, electricians and maintenance technicians will work on replacing more than 1,000 feet of track.
Kennywood's calendar shows the park will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, before the annual Phantom Fall Fest makes its return the following weekend.
