Recently, the Six Flags chain announced what's coming to their parks for 2023! Ranging from new family coasters to updated classic attractions to water park expansions, Six Flags' plans will satisfy a variety of parkgoer tastes.

Six Flags Over Texas - Aquaman Power Wave

The world's tallest and fastest water coaster, Aquaman Power Wave, opens soon at Six Flags Over Texas! The first of its kind in North America, Aquaman launches riders both forward and backward. The half-pipe layout sends riders up two 150-foot spikes. After a 90° facedown hold, Aquaman plunges them straight down at 63 miles per hour. The exhilirating experience culminates in a massive splashdown, much like a log flume or shoot-the-chutes ending, but supersized!

Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags Fiesta Texas - Kid Flash Cosmic Coaster

The world's first single-rail family coasters are coming to Georgia and Texas, courtesy of Skyline Attractions. They're coming in pairs, and now, they have a theme - Kid Flash! Both sides of Kid Flash will be intertwined - passengers duck under or cross over the opposing side no less than eleven times during their ride. After climbing to a height of twenty-five feet, riders wind through 550 or 574 feet of twisted, dueling excitement. In addition, Kid Flash will utilize Skyline’s new lighting package, Aurora. Using LED panels mounted onto the track, these coasters will be eye-catching in the daytime and illuminating in the nighttime. At Six Flags Over Georgia, Kid Flash will be located near Batman and The Riddler Mindbender coasters in Gotham City. In Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Kid Flash is replacing the Fender Bender bumper cars.

Six Flags St. Louis - Rookie Racer

The Skyline P'Sghettis weren't the only family coasters coming to Six Flags this year - St. Louis is adding Rookie Racer, a Vekoma junior coaster. After a four-story climb, riders race through 843 feet of track at a top speed of twenty-seven miles per hour. This junior coaster model is the first of its kind in North America. Rookie Racer is replacing the go-kart ride near The Boss.

Six Flags New England - Dino Off Road Adventure

You may be familiar with the classic antique cars rides found at many amusement parks. This year, Six Flags New England is re-theming their Antique Cars into Dino Off Road Adventure. They're upgrading the experience with life-size dinosaur animatronics, cutting-edge audio, interactive guides and educational elements, putting a prehistoric twist on this historic attraction.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom - New Animal Exhibits

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is opening two new animal exhibits this year. Rainforest Trail will feature free-flying butterflies, colorful fish, a sloth, and other exotic wildlife. In addition, Shark Experience will be a 300,000 gallon tank with a walk-through underwater tunnel and floor-to-ceiling windows. The exhibit will feature exotic fish, international stingrays and, well, a variety of sharks.

Six Flags Great Adventure - Splash Island

Coming to Six Flags Great Adventure's water park, Hurricane Harbor, Splash Island is a new play area with fourteen new slides. It will also sport a gargantuan treehouse play structure, with mini slides, curtain waterfalls and a giant tipping bucket.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas - Children's Water Park Expansion

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in San Antonio, the water park of Fiesta Texas, is expanding this year with eleven individual water slides and raft rides for younger guests.

These additions will improve the family-friendly offerings across Six Flags' parks, making them a more appealing vacation destination for everyone, not only thrillseekers.
