The Pacific National Exhibition (PNE), owners of Playland Amusement Park, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, have announced the purchase of Canada’s fastest launch coaster, supplied by Zamperla. This $9 million (Canadian) linear synchronous motor (LSM) launch coaster will occupy the previous location of the retired Corkscrew. The coaster will catapult riders forward at speeds of up to 45 mph over 1,246 feet of track, using LSMs to accelerate the train in seconds.

In addition, this yet-unnamed coaster will feature a brand-new Lightning train, to be revealed in November during the IAAPA Expo in Orlando.
