Obituary: David Cornell, 1963 – 2019

Born December 12, 1963, David Cornell, 55, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away at his home unexpectedly of natural causes on May 27. David grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, with his sister and parents and obtained his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Missouri – Rolla in 1986. He moved to Cincinnati and worked for Proctor and Gamble for many years before moving on to American Modern Issuance Group.

David experienced more than 1,900 roller coasters and traveled to many different cities, countries and continents. David was a member of ACE and many other enthusiast groups. His friendships expanded beyond his coaster count. His last trip included the 2019 ACE Preservation Conference at Kentucky Kingdom and Camden Park, and he had scheduled a trip to Poland before his passing.

David also loved “Doctor Who,” “Star Trek” and playing video games. He will be missed by so many in and out of ACE. However, his memory will live on through his friends and family. His roller coaster memorabilia have been donated to the ACE Archives to be displayed forever. A memorial service was held on June 5 in Loveland, Ohio. In lieu of flowers the family requests that friends please donate to Give Kids The World Village.
