On July 30, 2019, Busch Gardens Williamsburg in Virginia announced the details about Pantheon, a record-breaking multilaunch coaster from Intamin Worldwide, set to open in 2020.
Featuring a total of four launches - at 36 mph, 50 mph, 61 mph (backward) and 67 mph - and reaching speeds of up to 72.5 mph, the coaster will be the fastest multilaunch coaster in North America. The multiple launches will propel riders from 180 feet high and over 3,328 feet of track during the two-minute ride.
Pantheon combines speed and power, including forward and backward launches, two inversions and a 95-degree drop. Pantheon will be located in the Festa Italia village.
A spring 2020 opening is planned.
