Soupie passed away suddenly just 20 days after diagnosis of small cell cancer and a brain tumor. Soupie never knew his love of roller coasters until he joined ACE with me, and we started riding them together. His favorite park was Geauga Lake (until its demise) and then switched to Knoebels Amusement Resort. He loved the "steelies." His favorite was Raptor at Cedar Point. We went annually to the Phoenix Phall Phunfest. His only regret was that he was never able to ride Flying Turns. We were planning to attend this year (keeping an eye on weather conditions) but unfortunately weren’t able to make it. Soupie dearly loved Phoenix. He really enjoyed the airtime that Phoenix was able to give. He never kept track of how many coasters he had ridden; he just enjoyed riding them! He leaves to mourn his husband, Edward C. McDevitt; sister, Cathy Bytington, and many extend family members.
