ACE Southeast held its Smoky Mountain Coasterfest at Dollywood on November 14, 2020. During the Q&A session with park representatives, it was learned that Lightning Rod will become a hybrid version of topper track and I-box track in 2021. The change will make the coaster much more reliable and improve maintenance issues going forward. The layout will remain the same with no changes.
