The park hasn’t said anything, but a mystery is afoot at Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia.

Postponed from 2020, the park’s new-for-2021 addition is Coconut Shores in the park’s Soak City waterpark.

And yet, coaster parts have also arrived at Kings Dominion. They’ve actually been there for some time. With no type of announcement, one has to assume this is for a future development. While the parts were visible for a while, they have since been concealed. Best views can be had from a ride on Dominator.

So what’s the takeaway from what guests have seen? The ride parts look to be an S&S 4D Free Spin coaster. Will this have any new features or differences from the widely produced models around North America? For that, coaster fans will have to wait. No details have been revealed. There is ample time to bring some surprises to the project once the park determines the appropriate time to reveal all.

Coaster supports feature a “bamboo” paint scheme.

A cool note already to observe is how the ride is painted. The supports sport a “bamboo” look, indicating it is destined for the Safari Village section of the park. With the departure of Volcano: The Blast Coaster from that area, it would be a logical move to bring in a replacement. When the removal of Volcano took place, grading of that site looked to be in preparation for new construction.

Following the brutal impact of the 2020 health crisis, guests, park fans and ACE members are looking forward to many new attractions in 2021. It is interesting to see the beginnings of new coasters to arrive in 2022 as well.
