Notes from March Executive Committee Meeting

The Executive Committee met on March 13 and 14, 2021, via GoToMeeting. Listed below are some of the meeting highlights:

  • Coaster Con 43 will take place in June. COVID-19 safety guidelines are being closely monitored. Current information about safety measures will be posted on the ACE website by mid-April and will be updated as circumstances evolve. Registration is anticipated to open in early May.
  • The merchandise team is working on producing an ACE face mask that will be available for purchase at Con.
  • The Executive Committee approved ACE Coaster Classic recognition signage for Vuoristorata at Linnanmaki (Helsinki, Finland).
  • The Executive Committee voted to disburse $100,000 to the NRCMA for continued work on the museum expansion and $100,000 to the ACE Archives Fund. The NRCMA disbursement will take place over the next two years.
  • ACE plans to move forward with the ACE Preservation Conference that was originally planned for summer 2020 during the same time frame in 2021.
  • ACE plans to host an international trip in 2022. Members will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the potential trip options during the upcoming general member survey.
  • The events page has been updated on the ACE website. Members can now see all events on a single page.
  • The ACE communications team is looking for a TikTok manager. Anyone interested in this position can find more information on the volunteer page of the ACE website.
  • At a subsequent work session for the ACE Archives, the Executive Committee voted to donate $10,000 to Enchanted Forest (Turner, Oregon) from the ACE Preservation Fund to assist the park in repairing the extensive damage to rides and structures sustained during a recent winter storm.
