In addition to being Denmark's largest roller coaster, Fønix will also be the fastest with a top speed of 59 mph. At a length of 2,969.2 feet, it will be the roller coaster that offers the most airtime in Scandinavia, with 14 different elements, such as drops, loops and twists. At the same time, Fønix will be the first roller coaster in the world with a so-called stall loop, a classic loop combined with an inverted camelback, which gives an experience of weightlessness for 2.5 seconds.

One of the world's leading roller coaster manufacturers, Dutch Vekoma, is behind the design and construction of Fønix. The entire project will cost almost $16 million and it will thus be the park's largest investment in an amusement ride.

Guests at Fårup Sommerland are presently able to see the activity on the construction site, which will continue over the next 10 months. Director Niels Jørgen Jensen expects to be able to cut the cord for Denmark's largest roller coaster with the season opening at Easter 2022.
