On June 24, at the banquet during Coaster Con 43, a long-awaited presentation was given during the evening’s festivities. ACE Publications Director Lee Ann Draud was presented with a plaque recognizing her as the organization’s newest honorary member. This well-deserved acknowledgment was made even more fitting by the presentation taking place in Draud’s home state. Always a master with words, Draud’s comments from the podium were spot-on perfect and heartfelt.
The plaque presented read:
ACE salutes Lee Ann Draud for her diligent and tireless dedication to ACE.
An ardent lover of coasters and passionate supporter of parks, Lee Ann has been active in ACE for many years. Lee Ann has served on ACE’s Executive Committee as Publications Director since 2010. During this time, she helped steer ACE through changes in editors and layout artists. In more recent years, Lee Ann has played a key role in several publications changes, including the transition of ACE News to all color and then eventually to an online publication. Throughout these transitions, Lee Ann was instrumental in making sure that ACE News always retained its outstanding quality.
In addition to her publications work, Lee Ann has been actively involved with the ACE Archives for many years. Even after moving from eastern Pennsylvania to western Pennsylvania, she continued to make the long trek across the state to Allentown to support the archives. Lee Ann readily helps out with just about any task, even those outside of her primary area, because of her passion for the organization.
Lee Ann is a talented writer who consistently contributes articles to ACE publications and helps mentor others to become better writers as well. A long-time member of the editorial staff, she has also lent her expertise as a proofreader and editor to a variety of materials including eBlasts, flyers, event schedules and web pages.
ACE celebrates Lee Ann for always ensuring the consistency of ACE materials and for her relentless efforts to make sure that ACE always looks good and maintains a high standard of professionalism.
