Though remnants of Hurricane Ida skirted Louisville earlier in the week, a different kind of storm hit Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay on September 4, 2021, with perfect weather for the ACE Midwest regional event, Storm the Kingdom.

The start of the Labor Day weekend attracted 35 ACEers and guests from six states from West Virginia to Wisconsin. A one-hour morning ERT was held on Kentucky Flyer and Storm Chaser roller coasters. Later, a competition was held on numerous games. After a tie-breaking game-off on Cat Rack, Nate Knowles was presented with a King Louie plush as a prize.

Attendees were given a $15 cash card redeemable for souvenirs or food. Most gathered at Swampwater Jacks for lunch with a wide assortment of entrees from which to choose. Attendees were also given a wristband for free unlimited drinks.

The next day, seven ACEers gathered an hour and a half south of Louisville in Bowling Green for an Informal meetup at Beech Bend Park, where attendees took over the bumper cars and the legendary Kentucky Rumbler wooden roller coaster and even had a chance to chat with the park owner about the 2021 season. The festivities ended by attending several shows on the WBKO stage.
