Excitement was astir in Atlanta on January 6, 2022! The gorgeous Georgia day acted as a perfect backdrop for the long-awaited groundbreaking of the HUGE $13 million Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) creation, ArieForce One at Fun Spot America in Atlanta.

Festivities began when attendees were greeted with flutes of champagne (and sparkling juice, too) as they arrived at the theme park. Soon enough, those gathered took their seats for the official ceremony.

John Arie Jr., owner and chief executive of Fun Spot, acted as the master of ceremonies. Arie thanked not only the local dignitaries in attendance but also the folks from RMC and even ACE. His delight working with RMC was clear as well as his pride that the entire project is being manufactured in the United States. The excitement and enthusiasm Arie has for this project and the growth that is ahead for Fun Spot America Atlanta is incomparable!

At last, it was time to put shovels into the ground for the 3,400-foot, 64-mph coaster. Accompanied by streamers and cheers, area dignitaries; RMC team member Justin Whiteman; John Arie Sr., for whom the ride is dedicated; John Arie Jr. and his wife, Tracy Arie; Eric Bitler, director of operations; COO Mark Arie; CFO Mike Benner; and Chip Sziecko, representing ACE, began the groundbreaking, which was followed by a delicious assortment of foods in the park’s diner to celebrate this milestone moment.

Although no date has been set, the Aries hope to open the ride in 2022 and are excited to hear what ACEers will have to say about the ride’s 16 airtime moments, one-of-a-kind raven-truss dive, two zero-G rolls and longest 180-degree zero-G stall in America.
