Fønix (pronounced “phoenix”) has risen at Fårup Sommerland as the tallest, fastest and second-longest coaster in Denmark. Turquoise track and stunning red and yellow trains stand out as the excitement builds when guests enter this 46-year-old park. Stepping into these bright trains, guests climb 40 meters (about 130 feet) while anticipating thrills (or fears) ahead. Reaching the top of the lift, riders plunge to the ground at 80 degrees before flying through the inside of a top hat. The ride twists and turns, reaching a top speed of 95 kilometers per hour (about 59 mph) before venturing into a heartline roll.

Numerous airtime hills are scattered throughout to distract riders from the impending impressive corkscrew that goes straight through the station, which is sure to spook them into believing they are about to crash right into the building. Once the train has safely exited the indoor area, more pops of airtime delight guests before the train slows into the final brake run.

In all, riders experience three inversions and 14 airtime moments that are sure to give riders a thrilling experience. Fønix is produced by Vekoma Rides Manufacturing BV and is the largest investment in the park’s history.

Everything about Fønix is stunning and enhances the ride experience — the cattle pen-themed queue surrounded with greenery, the unique corkscrew that passes through the station, the gorgeous turquoise color of the track and the shining red and yellow trains. Best of all coaster-loving families can experience the memory-making ride together with a low 120-cm (almost 48-inch) height requirement.
