The ACE New York City region proudly hosted two events on July 30 and 31: Coasters on Rye and Legoland Block Party.

Playland is located in Rye, New York. Even though it was a warm day with a high temperature close to 90 degrees, 89 ACE members and guests attended from 10 different states including as far west as California.

The hour-long ERT included both the ACE Roller Coaster Landmark Kiddy Coaster and Dragon Coaster. Adults are only allowed to ride the Kiddy Coaster during ERT, which makes it a desirable draw for all ACE members, particularly those who hadn’t ridden it.

Several ACE members were able to complete milestones on Kiddy Coaster. Derek Perry from Los Angeles accomplished riding all operating wooden roller coasters in North America. John Swarens and Mat Wangrow from the Chicago area completed all operating wooden roller coasters in the United States.

The date for Coasters on Rye 2023 will be posted on the region’s social media platforms in the future.

Block Party at Legoland New York took place on July 31 and hosted 30 people. This was the first event between Legoland New York and the ACE New York City region. The park opened in 2021 and the second section of the park opened in 2022. It includes two roller coasters, The Dragon and The Dragon’s Apprentice, along with 20 other rides. Attendees were given ERT for one hour on the roller coasters.

Because of the extreme heat in the area, everyone was encouraged to drink plenty of water.

After ERT, attendees explored the rest of the park until 8 p.m. Each person was provided a lunch voucher. ACE members were also given options for informal takeover times on select rides. Despite the heat, everyone enjoyed the various attractions and creative setting that Legoland has to offer.

ACE New York City is currently planning to make Block Party at Legoland New York an annual event.
