The plains of North Texas just got louder with the addition of its newest coaster! This E&F Miler Industries coaster originated at the Scandia Amusement Park in Ontario, California, as the Scandia Screamer and has now stormed its way to Traders Village in Grand Prairie, Texas, as the newly restored Prairie Screamer.

Located in the Prairie Playland area of Traders Village (the largest outdoor market in the Dallas-Fort Worth area), Prairie Screamer's bright green and white structure towers over shoppers below as the yellow five-car train takes riders up its 87-foot lift hill. While ascending the gradual lift to the top, riders are given ample time to take in the shops, restaurants and other amusement rides below (and are even treated to a view of its nearby neighbor, Six Flags Over Texas, to the north). After a turn to the right, riders plunge down a steep 80-foot drop, reaching speeds of 50 mph. Their screams can be heard throughout the 120-acre outdoor market! Prairie Screamer then takes riders through a number of quick turns and sudden drops filled with airtime and does not let up its fury until hitting the final brakes. With 2,600 feet of compacted track, nearly a two-minute ride time and a height requirement of just 48 inches, this is one coaster the entire family can scream through together.

American Coaster Enthusiast members were given an exclusive invitation to attend media day for this classic coaster, and throughout the event, many attendees tallied multiple rides, as a front-seat ride experience differed greatly from that of a back-seat ride. Prairie Screamer is a great addition to Traders Village as its first roller coaster and will pave the way for more thrilling attractions to come to this North Texas park in the future! Travelers to the Dallas-Fort Worth area should be sure to stop by Traders Village and experience this newly restored classic coaster in person!
