On Sunday, November 20, nearly 50 ACE members and guests, including one who traveled all the way from Nevada, gathered at ZDT’s Amusement Park in Seguin, Texas, for ACE South Central’s annual event at the family-owned attraction. Attendees enjoyed a morning of complimentary classic arcade games, along with ERT on the Switchback wooden shuttle coaster and ThunderVolt Speedway Go-Karts.

Guests then enjoyed a lunch of the ever-popular grilled bun hotdogs or pizza. Following lunch, creative games mastermind and park co-owner Sara Donhauser created a special game that challenged everyone in attendance to identify either the state or the park in which a specified coaster was located to remain active in the game. Some coasters were easy, but many had even seasoned ACE members stumped. Michael Lopez was the last one standing and took home a special prize from ZDT’s. It should be noted that Sara baked cookies just for the ACEers too!

Following the game, Sara and her husband, Danny Donhauser, invited everyone out to enter one of the park’s old silos. Danny has been hard at work removing some silos and cleaning others up in preparation for ZDT’s next endeavor: “Seasons at the Silos.” Starting in the fall of 2023, guests at ZDT’s will be invited into a newly created courtyard at the heart of the site’s silos. The park plans on having a variety of vendors with fall crafts or special foods that complement the fall season located within each silo. The theme of the area will change with the seasons.

ACE South Central sincerely appreciated Danny and Sara Donhauser for their work hosting the South Central every fall. The region is proud to continue to support ZDT’s with this event and encourages all members to support local family-owned parks so they can remain for everyone to enjoy for years to come.
