On Saturday, May 4, Quassy Amusement Park and Waterpark in Middlebury, Connecticut, welcomed 58 ACE members and their guests for a day of fun and food. Located on Lake Quassapaug, Quassy was originally a trolley park and is not only family run but also maintained beautifully. From the landscaping to the buildings, everything looked clean and fresh.
Upon arrival, attendees were welcomed by park President George Frantzis, who assisted with wristband application and gave information about the schedule for the day.
Added to the park in 2011, Wooden Warrior is Quassy Amusement Park’s headlining attraction.

ACE members were first treated to breakfast, which consisted of coffee, juice, doughnuts, bagels, muffins and cookies. Following the meal, it was time to ride, and attendees were given almost two hours of ERT on Wooden Warrior. A family wood coaster built in 2011 by The Gravity Group, it was running just as smoothly as it did on opening day.
It may be small, but Wooden Warrior packs quite a punch for a family coaster.

Following ERT, attendees had an hour before lunch, so many enjoyed rides on the park’s kiddie coaster, Little Dipper, built by the Allan Herschell Company in 1952. It soon became time for lunch, and attendees were treated to an all-you-care-to-eat buffet that included soft drinks, beer and wine.

The last time ACE New England was at Quassy Amusement Park for Wooden Warrior Day was in 2017, and it was so good to be back at the lovely park. ACE New England extended gratitude to the park and Frantzis for their hospitality.
