Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has published a list of planned improvements to several of its parks for the 2026 season. While the named attractions are variously nonspecific and low on details, all are substantial projects for their respective properties. An investment program of $1 billion in additions, improvements and upgrades across the Six Flags chain of parks for 2025 and 2026 is behind these plans. Revealing all available detail, here they are listed.

Carowinds (Charlotte, North Carolina) will introduce a record-breaking water ride.

Canada’s Wonderland (Vaughn, Ontario) will reveal a record-breaking water attraction.

Kings Island (Mason, Ohio) will welcome a family thrill attraction.

Knott’s Soak City at Knott’s Berry Farm (Buena Park, California) will undergo a waterpark refresh and receive aesthetic enhancements.

Six Flags Magic Mountain (Santa Clarita, California) will debut a first-of-its-kind coaster in North America.

Six Flags Great America (Gurnee, Illinois) will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026 with a new area for kids, commemorative events throughout the season and many upgrades and enhancements.

Six Flags Great Adventure (Jackson, New Jersey) will unleash a record-breaking launch coaster.

Six Flags Over Texas (Arlington, Texas) will drop in a record-breaking dive coaster.

Six Flags Mexico (Mexico City) will premiere a family thrill boomerang coaster.

Improvements and additions are expected company wide at Six Flags in both 2025 and 2026, particularly in guest services and in food and beverage. A new executive chef has been added to the management team at Six Flags Over Georgia, for example, a move likely to be repeated at other parks.

Not to be forgotten under this stack of thrill ride news, the 2025 roster of Six Flags’ new thrill attractions is also part of this $1 billion capital package. To refresh, they include new thrill rides and coasters at Kings Dominion (Doswell, Virginia; Rapterra), Canada’s Wonderland (AlpenFury), Carowinds (Snoopy’s Racing Railway and Charlie Brown’s River Raft Blast), Cedar Point (Sandusky, Ohio; Siren’s Curse), Six Flags Over Georgia (Austell; Georgia Surfer), Six Flags Great Adventure (The Flash: Vertical Velocity), Six Flags Great America (Wrath of Rakshasa) and Six Flags New England (Agawam, Massachusetts; Quantum Accelerator).
