Spring in Texas can be anything: tumultuous storms, cold fronts, hot spells, hail … who knows. One thing that makes that unimportant — being indoors.
ACE South Central organized a simple event at Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark (Grand Prairie, Texas). It was actually a nice spring day when 24 people arrived for the Splash Into Spring event on March 29.
Director of Marketing Michael Wampler joined Assistant Regional Reps Brian Schrimsher, Donnie Ratliff and Chip Sieczko to hand out wristbands and arcade game cards as attendees arrived.
ACE had the Flow Rider an hour before the public could plop their own boards down on the (steep!) surface. What made this ERT special is the operators made a point to help beginners (most everybody) to find their groove and develop their skills on the Flow Rider. It was actually quite touching to see the special hospitality. And many members did indeed get better.
Epic Waters’ staff helped newcomers acclimate to the Flow Rider during ERT.
One of the video screens had a humorous graphic with a seven-day forecast for Epic Waters: all of them a tropical 85 degrees both day and night. Cute.

Once the park opened, attendees could hop on the various slides with virtually no waits or snag a tube in the lazy river. Being in early was helpful because when afternoon arrived, Epic Waters was sold out. Filled to its capacity based on online sales, the park had a line outside as a type of waiting list, depending upon a certain number to leave before new customers could be allowed in. Wow.

Once everyone was wet and had enjoyed many attractions, lunch was prepared in one of the park’s party rooms that overlook the park from above. Hamburgers and hot dogs, combined with sides and (supremely delicious) cookies, helped attendees get full. It was also a time for people to socialize and connect with stories of past events and upcoming ones.

After mealtime was complete, the rest of the day was free to enjoy the park — or other area attractions. Even though it was still March, it wasn’t too early to jump in the water.
