Do you love that chance to chat with fellow enthusiasts in
the queue? ACE is now bringing that opportunity to you at home! On March 11,
ACE launched its member-exclusive Discord channel, and members are already
enjoying the conversation. Since its launch, almost 200 ACE members have joined
the channel to discuss coasters, introduce themselves and find roommates and
rides for upcoming events.
Discord is an online platform that offers a place where individuals
can have a conversation any day of the week. It is an online platform and new
member benefit that brings ACE members together in conversation. The ACE Discord
server is member exclusive thanks to an extra step in joining that verifies each
participant’s membership. Every member of the server submits a verification
form upon joining, and the Discord team reviews members regularly to ensure
that they have renewed their membership.
Discord is part of ACE’s mission to offer a safe space for
all members to Live Who They Are, Be Who They Are; another place to notify
members of what is happening, including new event announcements; and a place to
converse. The moderators are diligent about ensuring that it is a space where
all opinions are respected and healthy conversation is promoted.
ACE members are utilizing this platform to find roommates
and carpools; get notifications and announcements of what is happening in ACE;
converse about photography, videography, No Limits 2; and so much more. Many
regions are represented for region-specific conversations. This is a great
place to ask for tips when visiting a region or to chat about coaster/park
visits. Some of the initial conversations have been about finding a place to
stay during a visit to Universal Resort in Florida, sharing photos of recent
park visits, introducing themselves to get to know the faces of fellow ACE
members, asking general questions about maximizing an ACE membership and
seeking suggestions of some great books to read about roller coasters.
Members who haven’t joined the conversation yet can join the
ACE Discord server at https://discord.gg/saeStWFXzX.
After joining Discord, to access the full server (conversation) participants
need to complete the member verification form https://forms.gle/Qyu9WVZuXpAqyUXu5.
Thanks go to the Discord launch team of Vassilios Ringas and Ty Hodge. The channels are
moderated by Matthew Kaiser, Jeff Kelly,
Nicholas Laschkewitsch, Tom Nickerson, Derek Perry and Doug Perry.
