    I've never done Winterfest and I am debating on making my way down there (5 and half hour drive)... Is it worth it? What do you like best about Winterfest?

    Our family loves Winterfest! For us, it's about the beauty of the park - the lights are beautiful and the parade is great!! Riding coasters in the cold air hits different, too. The hot chocolate is a don't miss. Our 22 and 19 year old kiddos love it too - we have celebrated my daughter's birthday there for the last two years. We'll be there 12/13 and 12/14! 

    We drive 3.5 hours and we have visited the park 10 times this year - and we still very much look forward to it. Let me know if you have any questions!

    Hmmm.... The 14th looks tempting. Might give it a try, provided the weather behaves. 

    I just did Coaster Christmas at SDC and that was amazing! I know few parks can match their vibe, but I'd like to check out another that is a bit closer to home. Sadly Michigan's Adventure doesn't offer one.

    I have been to Winterfest every year except 2020 (for obvious reasons) and 202…3? Due to an ice storm? 

    It is the one time of year I can get my spouse out to the park as they can't ride roller coasters. Every year we skate on the frozen fountain area and it doesn't feel like Christmas now without that. We also always get a picture (no I won't be posting those, she is very private).

    I have family in Charlotte and also end up at Carowinds' Winterfest a lot, but this year I care a lot less about going since the hours are during the daytime and there's less nighttime hours. The first year in 2017 was pretty cool, but in 2018 when they upgraded the lighting package on International Street, it just looks GORGEOUS now. It puts Columbus Zoo lights to SHAME. 

    Being KI and not being able to ride the Beemers in cold weather makes coasters a little limited, but I'm so glad they opened Racer starting last year! I also majorly nerded out over the Shooting Star Drive-In section. Any time KI pays homage to that little coaster at Coney Island that inspired the Racer, I'm in. 

    Not sure when exactly I'll be down but my regular coaster crew is talking about the 28th. Being in Cbus it's easier for me to just pop down if I'm feeling it on a weekend. 

    I seriously went around on Cedar Point's last day spreading the gospel of Kings Island's Winterfest. You just bought that fancy pass that gets you into a bunch of parks? Use it this December! The vibes are immaculate, there are so many things to do that aren't coasters, having Charlie Brown and Snoopy in the park Just Makes Sense, and of course, on-season is extended by way of The Shed. I cannot talk enough about this great event.

    It definitely looks wonderful! Living in Michigan, I don't get down there as often as I would like, but I have always been impressed with KI and the way they run things. The hardest part for me is making the 10 hour round trip for a beautiful event with a very limited ride line up, but they way you both have talked about the magic of the event I may just have to see if I can make down there on a Sunday, weather permitting.
