The tallest piece of Kennywood’s newest roller coaster, The Steel Curtain, has been bolted into place 220 feet above the ground and attached to the growing structure.

The ride is expected to set several records when completed, including tallest roller coaster in Pennsylvania.
The Steel Curtain was designed by S&S Sansei Technologies and will carry 24 passengers at speeds up to 76 mph over 4,000 feet of track. It will set the North American record of nine inversions, including the world’s tallest at 197 feet.
The Steel Curtain will be opening this summer at the West Mifflin park.
