William (Bill) Werth passed away on April 10, 2020. He resided in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, from 1982 until death.
Bill retired as manager of Porter Safety Seal, Co. (Franklin Park, Illinois) in 2000. He loved cars (specifically Thunderbirds), roller coasters and traveling. He and his wife, Liz, became ACE members in 1995. Along with American Coaster Enthusiasts, he was an active member of The Classic Thunderbird Club of Chicagoland. He was a handyman who loved his tools and liked to work on cars. He enjoyed fishing and could tell a good joke. He was a whiz at getting out stains and his advice was sought by his friends.

My husband, Ray, and I met Bill and Liz Werth in California at Six Flags Magic Mountain standing in a queue for a ride, following which they asked if they could pal around with us. That was the start of our friendship.
We all helped out at ACE events, Bill and Liz in the General Store, Ray and I with registration.
Bill would joke every time we pulled into an amusement park parking lot: “Joy, do you have Ray's leash?" as Ray was always running ahead of us.
The four of us would take a trip to Indiana Beach to end our summers of coaster riding. Bill always had a smile and a very infectious laugh. Bill will be missed by all who knew him. He's now riding coasters again.
