Ninety-degree weather and a beautiful sunny day welcomed 13 ACE members and their guests to Adventure Park USA in Monrovia, Maryland, on Saturday, June 5. Adventure Park USA is home to three relocated and refurbished coasters that are in top shape, thanks to the diligence of COO Eric Stottlemeyer and his team. Owing to COVID-19 precautions, this year’s event was a bit different from ACE Mid-Atlantic’s traditional Wild West Fun Day, but that didn’t change the remarkable offerings that a visit to the small, western Maryland park offers. Attendees purchased their ride wristband directly from the park (either online prior to visiting or when they arrived), then ventured through the arcade and café to the outdoor attractions for a group ride on the Wildcat roller coaster, which continues to offer the best rides of its life, now in its fifth installation.

After a trip on Wildcat, all ventured across the park for a quick ride on Tumbleweed, a Miler kiddie coaster. With sweltering temperatures, lunch was a welcome break from the heat. Attendees were offered 25 percent off in the Whistlestop Smokehouse with their ACE membership card. Adventure Park USA kindly gave attendees a dedicated party room for the day as a lounge for everyone to take a break from the heat and enjoy the opportunity to reconnect, as well as gather for the lunch break and some door prizes.

Throughout the event, attendees were encouraged to drop off their mini-golf score cards for prizes at the end of the day. The day came to a close with a final gathering to ride Wild West Express together and award mini-golf prizes.

Attendees thanked Adventure Park USA management for their continued hospitality. Appreciation also went to ACE Mid-Atlantic’s Bill Galvin for managing the event day logistics.
