On February 27, 2022, ACE Mid-Atlantic hosted Play Like a Kid at Fun Land of Fredericksburg in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Twenty-three ACEers and a guest visited this family entertainment center featuring indoor and outdoor attractions including a SBF Visa spinning coaster, a multilevel go-kart track, mini golf, indoor ropes course, arcade, rock wall and more.

Attendees enjoyed an event package with an all-day FUNpass wristband that allowed unlimited access to all rides and attractions and a lunch of pizza, mini corn dogs, chicken nuggets and soft drinks. General Manager and ACE member Clint Novak shared details of upcoming additions and long-term plans, as well as answered any questions attendees had.

In addition to savoring all Fun Land had to offer, attendees were invited on a tour of the Fred Nats Stadium with David Woodard, director of ticketing. The perk featured a tour of the stadium that included a viewing of a signed baseball collection, the VIP seating area and the field itself. During the tour, the guide answered questions and shared the history of the team, the stadium and its current owners. This event addition was definitely out of the norm for a group of coaster enthusiasts but an experience that was appreciated by all. Maybe a return visit presents an opportunity for a noncoaster social gathering?

All in all a great day — a new coaster credit for some, healthy competition on the mini golf course or go-kart track, winning the biggest prize on the wall or climbing around on the ropes course offered something special for everyone. Unquestionably, everyone definitely ate a lot of pizza!
