The National Roller Coaster Museum and Archives (NRCMA) has been a dream of many enthusiasts for quite some time. Since its founding, the museum’s goal has always been the same: to preserve and protect pieces of our amusement history and make them accessible to the public. Through regular ACE News updates, the NRCMA hopes to give members periodic reports on its progress to keep everyone informed of where it stands.

Throughout the years, the NRCMA has amassed a sizable collection of amusement park memorabilia.

Late 2024 and early 2025 has been a difficult time for many park fans. With multiple ride retirements, it seemed like day after day of sad news for some iconic attractions. The museum is in contact with many of the facilities that are retiring attractions and expects to be making some announcements about its efforts shortly.

The facility continues taking shape in Plainview, Texas, and when complete, will be a top-notch destination.

The museum can confirm that it will be receiving an Arrow antique car and Intamin bobsled vehicle from La Vibora at Six Flags Over Texas (Arlington). It also officially announced the date of the next open house event: Saturday, July 26, when individuals can experience the nostalgia of the museum’s collection, see its progress in person and even sign up to wash a coaster car! Stay tuned for registration details on its social channels.

Would you like to help the cause? While the museum doesn’t have any volunteer opportunities available at this time, those interested can still support the museum’s mission through direct donations and purchases at the online gift shop at rollercoastermuseum.org/shop.
