On Thursday, July 3, Yeti Trek made its inaugural run at Santa's Village in Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada. First riders won their seats in an auction that raised $4,100 for a local children's charity. The coaster officially opened to the public on July 5 and became an instant hit for all ages!

Fly-through of the elaborately themed station is a highlight of the experience.

Yeti Trek is a custom-design family coaster by Vekoma that soars over the Muskoka River, traveling at 61 kph (approximately 38 mph). It features breathtaking views, fantastic twists and even a flythrough of the station — the first of its kind in Canada. It has a single train with 10 rows, accommodating seats with plenty of leg room and comfortable lap-bar restraints — and a minimum height requirement of only 39 inches (when accompanied by a taller rider).

Representatives from Vekoma joined Santa’s Village ownership for the coaster’s debut.

The ride itself is perfect for the park. It smoothly navigates through the Muskoka wilderness, whipping the rider around fantastic twists and curves. The experience is wonderfully enhanced with its theming. A fun video plays as riders enter the boarding station, maps and pictures of possible yeti sightings decorate the walls and yetis hide all over, including a few that are mostly viewable while enjoying the ride.

Similar to other Vekoma family coasters installed throughout the world, Yeti Trek features plenty of directional changes and low-to-the-ground slithering maneuvers.

Yeti Trek is a welcome addition to Santa's Village and an exciting way to mark the park's 70th season.
