AlpenFury has made its long-awaited debut at Canada’s Wonderland (Vaughan, Ontario), and it does not disappoint. The coaster is not a long ride, clocking in at just over one minute, but in that short amount of time, riders fly through nine inversions reaching speeds of 115 kph (71 mph), with the wild inversions being the most for any launch coaster.
Although not a large coaster, AlpenFury looks massive from certain angles.

As the train leaves the station, it hits the first launch that shoots it forward into a right-hand dive, plunging its passengers into the darkness of Wonder Mountain, after which the chaos begins as the second launch fires the train out the top of the mountain through the top hat and into the park. This propels it behind buildings and through the trees before turning around and twisting over and under Vortex twice before coming back to the station.
Premier Rides, the builders of this 3,281-foot-long fun and chaotic beast, has created a great addition to the Wonderland lineup of 17 coasters — among the largest in the world.

The coaster’s installation included charming, detailed architecture that brings new life to the section of the park.

A conversation with Peter Switzer, director of maintenance and construction, revealed the response to the coaster’s opening was incredible and actually made lines elsewhere in the park shorter. There is still work to be done, as shade coverings will be installed in the long queue, and a few more decorative items will be added. However, when looking at the area, everything looks as if it has been there for years. Other buildings received some touchups, and the whole flow of the area just works. Oh, and it's all done under the watchful eye of the Goat. (Not G.O.A.T. but goat, as in the one that was once part of Bayern Curve.)
AlpenFury features a blend of high-flying aerial maneuvers above Wonder Mountain as well as sections of track much closer to the ground.

- AlpenFury left me speechless! It exceeded my expectations — so intense and aggressive. My favorite part of the ride is definitely coming out of the mountain, through the top hat. Premier Rides hit this out of park. Definitely one of best coasters in North America. — Tyler Burke

As is common with many new roller coaster installations, Canada’s Wonderland is ready to celebrate AlpenFury’s opening with plenty of merchandise.

- AlpenFury is easily the best ride at Canada’s Wonderland. It’s a perfectly balanced ride, serving riders a great mix of ejector airtime, hangtime and intensity. This is exactly the kind of coaster the park needed, and I couldn’t be happier with the end result. — Parker VanBelleghem
