Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California, just north of Los Angeles, is no stranger to being a record breaker. It should come as no surprise, therefore, that the addition of a new roller coaster for 2022 not only would be a record breaker for the park, but also would continue Six Flags Magic Mountain's reign as the park with the most coasters on the planet. Wonder Woman Flight of Courage brings Magic Mountain’s total roller coaster count now to an impressive 20, the most for any theme park — ever. The coaster itself is another unique and exciting addition to the park.

Wonder Woman Flight of Courage is the longest, tallest single-rail coaster ever built. The coaster stands at 131 feet, with a track that runs more than 3,300 feet, symbolically gold for Wonder Woman’s lasso. With support beams painted in deep red and a track painted bright yellow, it joins other superhero-named rides as DC’s most popular female superhero. The coaster reaches speeds of 58 mph after dropping at 87 degrees. Wonder Woman really shows her strength with three dramatic inversions, including a 180-degree stall, raven dive and zero-gravity roll. With a nearly two-minute journey, Wonder Woman Flight of Courage truly is an Amazon among Magic Mountain’s roster of coasters.

Unlike other single-rail coasters from Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC), this one doesn't immediately engage the lift hill as it leaves the station. Following a slow turn to the right, the ascent up the 131-foot lift into the sky begins. Riders who have been on Six Flags Great Adventure's Jersey Devil Coaster will find the next set of maneuvers familiar as it follows an exciting similar course. The initial plunge catapults the train to its top speed, as the train whips into a series of elements in quick succession. The breathtaking raven dive is followed by an airtime filled hill, 180-degree stall, high-speed turnaround to the right and down into a zero-G roll, all before the midcourse brake. As if flying on Wonder Woman's invisible jet, the 12-passenger train soars toward the ground and into an overbanked cutback into a series of airtime hills back to DC Universe. Unlike its New Jersey cousin, this flight features an extended ending as it dives and hits one more banked curve over the ride's entry plaza. After reaching the brakes and turning left by Batman The Ride, exhilarated riders re-enter the station. Trains continuously move, and passengers exit the vehicle as the restraint automatically lifts car by car. Even though just one foot taller than Jersey Devil, Wonder Woman seems surprisingly more energetic, according to ACE members who have experienced both coasters. Perhaps the rush by other coasters in the area adds to the excitement. Since the train is so long, front and back seat rides certainly differ, and both must be experienced. Riding in the last car is like being on Wonder Woman's golden lasso as the lucky passenger is wildly pulled through many of the elements!

In addition to the new coaster, Six Flags Magic Mountain has reimagined the area now as DC Universe. The area is also home to Batman The Ride and the renamed Teen Titans Turbo Spin. A new retail store has been added that guests will now exit through when exiting the Batman and Wonder Woman rides. The store will feature exclusive ride merchandise as well as other DC-branded items. With neighboring attractions such as Riddler’s Revenge and Justice League: Battle for Metropolis dark ride, it’s hard not to feel heroic being surrounded by it all.

Wonder Woman Flight of Courage is unlike any other coaster at our park and delivers a unique and thrilling experience for our guests,” said Six Flags Magic Mountain Park President Don McCoy. “The expansion of DC Universe, one of our park’s most popular themed areas, highlights our dedication to creating new, immersive experiences and rides for thrill seekers of all ages.”

The coaster also marks Six Flags Magic Mountain’s second RMC coaster in the park, with the other being Twisted Colossus. RMC President Darren Torr was in attendance that day. “We really strive to make sure it is a wonderful ride experience, an open-air concept where people feel like they are flying close to the track,” he said. “Based on our unique patented track system, we think we are able to give a very, very smooth ride that hopefully comes through to all the guests [they will] be enjoying for the next 50 years.”

Six Flags Magic Mountain has in its own way made its own Justice League of roller coasters. Each coaster has its unique power and mythology, and when combined all together they are quite unstoppable. Of course, the Justice League is not complete without Wonder Woman being one of its premier members. This coaster has made its mark at Six Flags Magic Mountain, and just like her lasso of truth, there is no lying, Wonder Woman Flight of Courage is amazing!
