New Years Coaster Resolutions

Ok, I know the whole resolution thing is played out, but I'm going there anyway... What is your New Years Coaster Resolution?

Perhaps it's not to go three hours out of your way for anymore SBF Visa Spinners? Or, maybe it is to do just that and get every credit you can?Maybe you want to get all the coasters in your state? Or perhaps it's to limit yourself to only 15 chicken tenders meals off your dining plan?

For me it is to get every coaster in 100 miles of home... I'm missing only one, Dragon Coaster at People's Choice Family Fun Center in Chicago... I've come close to getting it a couple of times... This year will be the year!

Big goals, especially the second one!

Time is running out on getting to CGA. I used to live in Sacramento and would visit Discovery Kingdom, (then Marine World). This was in the dark ages before the Internet really was as accessible, I had no idea CGA even existed, I'm kicking myself for all those opportunities I had to visit it that I wasted!

So what do you think are your chances of getting to go on Rome with Ace?

If I'll have to guess it's 75/25 in favor of going, I'll have to sweet talk my way into it bahaha Italy is on my bucket list and when you add coasters....... Yes please

    Will you be attending?

It's awful tempting as Italy is most certainly on my bucket list too, but my wife would kill me if I flew us across the world to ride coasters lol.

She has agreed that if ever make it to Europe I am allowed one day at one park, which, given the expense and the fact that she is not an enthusiast, is reasonable. I have to pick my shot and my park very carefully.

I hope you go, it looks like it should be a lot of fun and one heck of an experience!

My resolution is to complete my coaster alphabet. I've been on coasters with names beginning with every letter of the alphabet except U and Y. If I can make it to Canobie Lake Park, I can cross those off with Untamed and Yankee Cannonball. Not close to my Cincinnati home, but if I go to Coaster Con this year as I hope to, Six Flags New England is two hours from Lake Canobie. Might just happen! 🀞

That's a pretty cool goal! Now you have me wanting to look and see what letters I'm missing and how I can get them checked off!

Coaster Con does look like a lot of fun and Canobie seems like a classic must visit park!

Hello everyone. I am new to this group. My resolution would be to accomplish 300 coaster credits (I am only at 113) and visit California's Great America before they close. I grew up going to SF Great America and have heard it is very similar. I am old enough to have ridden The Whizzer before they added seatbelts.   I did, fortunately make it to SF America for my first visit there before they closed this summer.

300 is a huge goal for the year! I absolutely love to see people set goals like that!

Glad to hear you made it out to SF America before it closed. It became a must visit for us last year too.

SF Great America was my home park in the early 90's, never made it to CGA, and it's sadly looking like I never will.

Do you have a plan to get ya to 300?

Do you have a particular coaster in mind for #200, 250, and 300?

    It's definitely tempting!

I am starting to look at airfare. Just can't let my family in Sacramento know that I went there and didn't visit them!

I never really thought about riding certain coaster for the milestone numbers but maybe I will when I get closer.  I'm sure I have a little more than 113 but I don't remember which rides I rode at Six Flags St. Louis, Six Flags Geauga Lake or Adventureland decades ago. I have always ridden coasters but don't want to give myself credit if I do not specifically remember. I am hoping and planning to visit somewhere at least one per month until November starting in February. If there are any other parks within 2-3 hrs driving, I will try to go there. When I went to Six Flags America, I was able to ride everything in 1 day except Batwing which was already closed. I didn't need the extra day I had planned so we drove to HersheyPark for the first time. I was so glad I did because I did not realize how great that park was.
