IAAPA Day Four concluded the week-long event with a quieter day of networking, socializing and connecting, as most of the attendees finished their shopping and exploring! At the ACE booth we enjoyed visits from David Mandt, executive vice-president, IAAPA; Chris Ozimek, communications manager, Fiesta Texas; and Jeffrey Siebert, president, Fiesta Texas. Filming of Connected by Coasters stories continued.

Give Kids The World hosted a festive press conference to continue the drive toward the Ripley’s Shave the Beard & Make It Weird record-setting effort. Hoss the Hairball will be collecting hair through December 10 to achieve his beard, and We Are Not a Boy Band acapella group and Erin Blair, aerialist, performed.

IAAPA celebrated the re-emergence of Kennywood’s Kangaroo! Premiere Rides distributed stuffed kangaroos in honor of its work to restore this treasured ride.

ACE Communications Director Elizabeth Ringas concluded ACE’s video interview series with features on Vekoma Rides and Great Coasters International.

It is a day to recognize great success for the week! ACE achieved all its goals for the week, which included:

Visiting each roller coaster manufacturer with a gift bag of World Roller Coaster Appreciation Month pins to enjoy wearing throughout the week and reminding them of the benefits of working with American Coaster Enthusiasts
Engaging volunteers with participation at IAAPA and giving back to the organization
Driving foot traffic to ACE’s booth, which we achieved by giving World Roller Coaster Appreciation Month pins to each visitor
Recognizing corporate members with a video slideshow and a gift of a special ACE member pin

It was an amazing week, and the volunteers truly gave their all to assist ACE! This tradeshow is quite an undertaking and requires a large number of people to maximize ACE’s investment in it.
