Coasterfest is the annual event
for Western New York Coaster Club. In 2022, ACE New England helped cohost the
event. Each day found attendees at a different park.
May 28, Day One, started things off at Quassy (Middlebury,
Connecticut) with 18 people in attendance. The schedule began at 10:45
with 15 minutes of ERT on Wooden Warrior. Once the park opened at 11,
crowds were minimal because of rain expected that afternoon. Attendees did an informal
takeover time on the bumper cars at 12:30. Since there was no one in line, ride
operators kept recycling them for us until 1:15, when the park was being closed
owing to an incoming thunderstorm. As a group, members made a beeline in the
rain to the only restaurant to redeem food vouchers while it was still possible.
Those vouchers were good for any entree on the menu and any beverage. Since the
park closed early, each attendee was given a weekend pass good for another
visit during the rest of the season.

The next day, May 29, attendees arrived at Lake Compounce (Bristol,
Connecticut) and were let into the park at 10:45, 15 minutes before park
opening. Those in attendance could be first in line for any ride of their
choosing. BoulderDash was a group decision. Once the park opened, attendees
were together on the first train of the day. After that first ride, enthusiasts
went their separate ways for the rest of the day. Each was given a voucher good
for a meal featuring grilled cheese, hot dog, personal pizza or chicken
tenders.
